Malcesine on Lake Garda
Malcesine, situated on the east shore of Lake Garda around the Castello Scaligero and the historical building of Palazzo dei Capitani, preserves its ancient medieval origins.
Its gentle climate invites especially during the off-season to wonderful walks on hills and mountains.
It also offers various sport activities: sailing, waterskiing, windsurf, tennis, minigolf, paragliding, mountainbiking, and during the winter you can reach by the cableway the slopes of Monte Baldo.
The castle of Malcesine
The Scaligero castle is an ancient complex of the 14th century, rising on a rock ledge right over the lake, and was inspiration for the poet Goethe during his Italian journey in 1786. From the castle's towers you get enchanted by the breath-taking, incomparisable panorama. Visiting the castle you find three internal small yards, the museum conserves naturalistic collections and historical relics.

The zone of Malcesine is surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, offering a high-quality oil of extremly low acidity (0.10 – 0.30 on average) and an elevated quantity of vitamins and oligominerals. Cableway Monte Baldo
Malcesine is the favourite destination for all passionates of sports and freetime activities. In 2002 the new cableway Malcesine-Monte Baldo was inaugurated. It permits to reach comfortably the summit of Monte Baldo, where excursionists and nature lovers can hike on foodpaths, mountainbike lovers can race breath-taking downhill slopes and snow lovers can ski during the winter season, all in a panorama which is beyond comparison.
